THE truth about Prosper202 shared hosting

By: on Feb 1, 2012 | 1 Comment

Let me start by both commending and acknowledging the guys at Prosper202. I’m sure they worked very hard to put out a very popular product, one which is free for everyone to use.

But let’s be honest with each other. Everyone is here to make money in some sort of fashion. Which in a way brings me to why I created this post in the first place.

We at BlueLayerMedia have done a great deal of work with Prosper202. We have done everything from making a custom installation, installations on other hosts and of course installing it on our own hosting for our customers. Recently while doing some research on Prosper202, I came across two posts which I found to be very misleading.

Both of these posts were posted on the official Prosper202 blog. One post made reference that Prosper202 could only be installed on VPS hosting. Furthermore, it went on to say that if you attempted an installation on shared hosting they would not responsible for helping you in any way nor if your site was taken down for excessive usage.

The second post in essence said the same thing. In fact it was titled Prosper202 + Shared Hosting = Epic Fail. At the bottom of each of these posts was a reference to VPS hosting. The VPS hosting is a were referring to is a company that they are an affiliate with. I quickly was able to see, as I’m sure is anyone else would that both of these posts are simply marketing ploys in order to get users to sign up for “official” Prosper 202 hosting.

At BlueLayerHost we host countless customers which use Prosper202. In fact, we have done the installations ourselves for many of these clients. All of these installations were done without a single hiccup. In our existence, we have never suspended or taking down a single site for excessive usage while using Prosper202.

Some other hosting companies such as, HostGator have trouble running Prosper202 which is why we made our custom installation for this particular host.

Perhaps it would be more truthful for the Prosper202 people to say it was designed for use on VPS hosting. Not that it must be installed on a VPS. Putting out publicly that it must be installed on VPS hosting is simply untruthful.

If you would like to save yourself some money and not pay for a VPS, give our shared hosting a try. We offer many free services from installing Prosper202, to migrating your site and providing free upgrades if and when it becomes necessary.

There are no long-term contracts to sign and you can pay for our hosting on a month to month basis or yearly if you prefer. We offer a 30 day moneyback guarantee with no questions asked.
